What is Night Vision and Why is it Important?
The Night Vision mode of the ROVE R2-4K allows you to record brighter and precise footage in darker locations. The dashcams’ wide-angle lenses capture more brightness processed by the in-built SONY STARVIS IMX 335 Sensor, offering you a super night vision experience. This feature captures critical details like vehicles’ number plates or road signs while driving at night or in low light conditions.
What is night vision?
Night Vision refers to a technology that enables a dashcam to capture detailed and precise footage at night or other low-light conditions. It is an advanced sensor fitted in dashcams that automatically detects the lack of light and adjusts the exposure level accordingly, enhancing the footage clarity.
A dashcam with Night Vision feature is a tremendous reliable tool for driving safety at night. Regular dashcams without this feature cannot capture essential details in the road at low light conditions – like vehicle’s number plates and road names or signs. In comparison, Night Vision dashcams can accomplish the task effortlessly, exposing the darker areas of the footage using sensors. Footage clarity proves very beneficial in claiming insurance or proving innocence to law enforcement for a mishap that occurred in lack of brightness.
ROVE employs SONY STARVIS IMX 335 Sensor in its R2-4K dashcam model to provide you with a super night vision experience. The R2-4K’s F1.8 large aperture and 150° wide-angle 6-Glass lens capture more light processed by its ultra low light SONY STARVIS sensor, ensuring brighter and detailed footage in dark locations. R2-4K also allows you to switch the feature On or Off according to your requirements.
NOTE: Turning On the Night Vision feature during regular recording in the bright area can result in overexposure of the footage. The increased exposure and reflection of headlights can whited-out the vehicle’s license plates in a recording at night. Thus, ROVE recommends switching the night vision On while your car is parked and parking-mode recording is working.
